August 15th marked the second-annual GalaxyCon in San Jose, California, where folks from all around had the opportunity to meet big Hollywood stars like Giancarlo Esposito and Matthew Lillard, popular voice actors like Brandon Rogers and Gary Anthony Williams, as well as cartoonists, artists, and creatives of all kinds. But walking through the entrance to the exhibit floor, guests are immediately greeted by a row of cosplayers, and in the dead-center of it: Jinxx, professionally known as Merkuma.
I first had the wonderful opportunity to meet Merkuma at last year’s GalaxyCon, doing coverage for the Nakama Podcast, where we collectively spoke about the amazing vampire anime Call of the Night, and it was a lot of fun, so I was keen to stop by and say hi again. Dressed as Jinx from Arcane, the League of Legends adaptation from French animation studio Fortiche, Merkuma talked with me about her cosplay, the world of Arcane, and the overall GalaxyCon experience.
